Constantin Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi a fost ales postum membru al Academiei Rom\u00e2ne. Francezii \u00eei pronun\u0163\u0103 numele Brancusi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">N\u0103scut \u00een data de 19 februarie 1876, Constantin este al cincilea copil al lui Nicolae \u015fi Maria Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi. Prima clas\u0103 primar\u0103 o face la Pe\u015fti\u015fani, apoi continu\u0103 \u015fcoala la Br\u0103diceni. Copil\u0103ria este marcat\u0103 de dese plec\u0103ri de acas\u0103 \u015fi ani lungi de ucenicie \u00een ateliere de boiangerie, pr\u0103v\u0103lii \u015fi birturi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Casa-muzeu_Constantin_Brancusi-exterior.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Casa-muzeu_Constantin_Brancusi-exterior\" src=\"http:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Casa-muzeu_Constantin_Brancusi-exterior.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"196\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dup\u0103 ce a urmat \u015ecoala de Arte \u015fi Meserii \u00een Craiova (1894 \u2013 1898) vine la Bucure\u015fti unde absolv\u0103 \u015ecoala de Belle-Arte \u00een 1902. \u00cen timpul studen\u0163iei, chiar \u00een primul an, \u00een 1898, lucrarea sa \u201cBustul lui Vitellius\u201d ob\u0163ine \u201cmen\u0163iune onorabil\u0103\u201d, Cap al lui Laocoon din 1900 ob\u0163ine medalia de bronz, iar Studiu din 1901, c\u00e2\u015ftig\u0103 medalia de argint. Timp de doi ani, \u00eentre 1900 \u015fi 1902, cu ajutorul doctorului Dimitrie Gerota realizeaz\u0103 Ecor\u015feu, un studiu pentru reprezentarea corpului omenesc, lucrare c\u0103reia i se atribuie o medalie de bronz. Precizia detaliilor acestei lucr\u0103ri va face ca Ecor\u015feul s\u0103 fie folosit \u00een \u015fcolile rom\u00e2ne\u015fti de medicin\u0103, dup\u0103 ce se vor face c\u00e2teva copii, iar Marcel Duchamp va include fotografia Ecor\u015feului \u00een expozi\u0163ia pe care o va organiza la sf\u00e2r\u015fitul anului 1933 la Galeria Brummer din New York City.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00cen 1903, prime\u015fte prima comand\u0103 a unui monument public, bustul generalului medic Carol Davila, care va fi instalat la Spitalul Militar din Bucure\u015fti \u015fi reprezint\u0103 singurul monument public al lui Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi din Bucure\u015fti. Pleac\u0103 \u00een 1904 la studii la M\u00fcnchen, dar dup\u0103 \u015fase luni o porne\u015fte pe jos prin Bavaria, Elve\u0163ia p\u00e2n\u0103 la Langres, \u00een Fran\u0163a, de unde ia trenul p\u00e2n\u0103 la Paris. \u00cen 1905 reu\u015fe\u015fte la concursul de admitere la prestigioasa \u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure des Beaux-Arts, unde lucreaz\u0103 \u00een atelierul lui Antonin Merci\u00e9 p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een 1906 c\u00e2nd, ating\u00e2nd limita de v\u00e2rst\u0103, p\u0103r\u0103se\u015fte \u015fcoala. Refuz\u0103 s\u0103 lucreze ca practician \u00een atelierul lui Auguste Rodin, rostind cuvintele devenite celebre, \u201cRien ne pousse \u00e0 l\u2019ombre des grands arbres\u201d (La umbra marilor copaci nu cre\u015fte nimic).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/muza-adormita-bronz1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-10559\" title=\"muza adormita bronz\" src=\"http:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/muza-adormita-bronz1-300x181.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/muza-adormita-bronz1-300x181.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/muza-adormita-bronz1.jpg 393w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Expune pentru prima dat\u0103 la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Nationale des Beaux-Arts \u015fi la Salon d\u2019Automne din Paris \u00een 1906. Creeaz\u0103 \u00een 1907 prima versiune a S\u0103rutului, tem\u0103 pe care o va relua sub diferite forme p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een 1940, culmin\u00e2nd cu Poarta S\u0103rutului parte a Ansamblul Monumental din T\u00e2rgu-Jiu. \u00cen 1907 \u00eenchiriaz\u0103 un atelier \u00een Rue de Montparnasse \u015fi intr\u0103 \u00een contact cu avantgarda artistic\u0103 parizian\u0103, \u00eemprieten\u00e2ndu-se cu Guillaume Apollinaire, Fernand L\u00e9ger, Amedeo Modigliani, Marcel Duchamp. Va \u00eencepe lucrul la Rug\u0103ciunea, o comand\u0103 pentru un monument funerar ce va fi expus\u0103 \u00een Cimitirul \u201eDumbrava\u201d de la Buz\u0103u. \u00cen 1909 revine pentru scurt timp \u00een Rom\u00e2nia \u015fi particip\u0103 la \u201cExpozi\u0163ia oficial\u0103 de pictur\u0103, sculptur\u0103 \u015fi arhitectur\u0103\u201d. Juriul Expozi\u0163iei, prezidat de Spiru Haret acord\u0103 premiul II ex aequo lui Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi, Paciurea, Steriadi, Petra\u015fcu, Theodorescu-Sion. Colec\u0163ionarul de art\u0103 Anastase Simu \u00eei cump\u0103r\u0103 sculptura Somnul iar bustul \u00een ghips al pictorului Nicolae D\u0103r\u0103scu este achizi\u0163ionat de Ministerul Instruc\u0163iunii Publice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/bird_in_space_Brancusi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"bird_in_space_Brancusi\" src=\"http:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/bird_in_space_Brancusi-236x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"236\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>P\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een 1914, particip\u0103 cu regularitate la expozi\u0163ii colective din Paris \u015fi Bucure\u015fti, inaugur\u00e2nd ciclurile P\u0103s\u0103ri M\u0103iestre, Muza adormit\u0103, Domni\u015foara Pogany.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Domnisoara-Pogany.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Domnisoara-Pogany\" src=\"http:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Domnisoara-Pogany-204x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"204\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00cen 1914, Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi deschide prima expozi\u0163ie \u00een Statele Unite ale Americii la Photo Secession Gallery din New York City, care provoac\u0103 o enorm\u0103 senza\u0163ie. Colec\u0163ionarul american John Quinn \u00eei cump\u0103r\u0103 mai multe sculpturi, asigur\u00e2ndu-i o existen\u0163\u0103 material\u0103 prielnic\u0103 crea\u0163iei artistice. \u00cen acela\u015fi an, ministrul de interne al Rom\u00e2niei respinge proiectul monumentului lui Spiru Haret comandat cu un an \u00eenainte. Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi va p\u0103stra lucrarea \u00een atelier \u015fi o va intitula F\u00e2nt\u00e2na lui Narcis. \u00cen 1915, \u00eencepe s\u0103 execute primele lucr\u0103ri \u00een lemn: 2 Cariatide, Fiul risipitor etc. La Paris, \u00een 1919, apare volumul \u201eLa Roumanie en images\u201d cu cinci reproduceri dup\u0103 lucr\u0103ri ale lui Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi. Un an mai t\u00e2rziu, particip\u0103 la expozi\u0163ia grup\u0103rii \u201eLa Section d\u2019Or\u201d \u00een Fran\u0163a, la expozi\u0163ia grup\u0103rii \u201eArta rom\u00e2n\u0103\u201d la invita\u0163ia lui Camil Ressu \u00een Rom\u00e2nia, la \u201eFestivalul Dada\u201d, unde semneaz\u0103 manifestul intitulat Contre Cubisme, contre Dadaiseme. \u00cen revista Little Review din New York, apare, \u00een 1921, primul studiu de amploare cu 24 de reproduceri din opera lui Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi, semnat de poetul american Ezra Pound. De altfel, sculptorul avea s\u0103 realizeze ulterior un celebru portret al acestuia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Particip\u0103 la o mi\u015fcare de protest contra lui Andr\u00e9 Breton \u015fi \u00een ap\u0103rarea lui Tristan Tzara. La 30 noiembrie 1924, expune la Prima expozi\u0163ie interna\u0163ional\u0103 a grup\u0103rii \u201cContimporanul\u201d din Bucure\u015fti. Doi ani mai t\u00e2rziu, la <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/rugaciune_-_constantin_brancusi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"rugaciune_-_constantin_brancusi\" src=\"http:\/\/www.marianagurza.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/rugaciune_-_constantin_brancusi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"198\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a>Wildenstein Galleries, din New York, se deschide cea de-a doua expozi\u0163ie personal\u0103 a sa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">P\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een 1940, activitatea creatoare a lui Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi se desf\u0103\u015foar\u0103 \u00een toat\u0103 amploarea ei. Operele sale de seam\u0103 din ciclul Pas\u0103rea \u00een v\u0103zduh, ciclul Ovoidului precum \u015fi sculpturile \u00een lemn dateaz\u0103 din aceast\u0103 perioad\u0103. \u00cen acela\u015fi timp, Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi particip\u0103 la cele mai importante expozi\u0163ii colective de sculptur\u0103 din Statele Unite ale Americii, Fran\u0163a, Elve\u0163ia, Olanda, Anglia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00cen atelierul s\u0103u din Impasse Ronsin, \u00een inima Parisului, Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi \u015fi-a creat o lume a lui, cu un cadru \u015fi o atmosfer\u0103 rom\u00e2neasc\u0103. Muzeul Na\u0163ional de Art\u0103 Modern\u0103 din Paris (Centre Pompidou) are un num\u0103r important de lucr\u0103ri ale lui Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi, l\u0103sate prin testament mo\u015ftenire Rom\u00e2niei, dar acceptate cu bucurie de Fran\u0163a, \u00eempreun\u0103 cu tot ce se afla \u00een atelierul s\u0103u, dup\u0103 refuzul guvernului comunist al Rom\u00e2niei anilor 1950 de a accepta luc\u0103rile lui Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi dup\u0103 moartea sculptorului.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00cen Rom\u00e2nia, \u00een epoca realismului socialist, Br\u00e2ncu\u015fi a fost contestat ca unul din reprezentan\u0163ii formalismului burghez cosmopolit.
