Pentru prima oar\u0103, ziua de na\u0219tere mi-a c\u0103zut \u00een ziua de Pa\u0219te, de \u00cenviere. Cum, mai mult n-am s\u0103rb\u0103torit-o, de-a lungul vie\u021bii, am avut tenta\u021bia s-o neglijez pe c\u00e2t posibil. Pe facebook, \u00eens\u0103, am dat de ur\u0103ri cu nemiluita, de la prieteni virtuali, din ce \u00een ce mai reali, fo\u0219ti colegi de \u0219coal\u0103 \u0219i de facultate, studen\u021bi din India, bibliotecari, scriitori, academicieni, sute, ca \u00eentr-un tratak yogin pe lumina coincindent\u0103: Hristos a \u00cenviat \u2013 La mul\u021bi Ani!\/Happy birthday (Thom Niebblin, Ta Kivinh, Sophia Inspire)\/ Muy feliz cumpleanos (Maria Rocio Cardoso Arias) \/ bonne anniversaire (Elisabeta Isanos) \/ auguri de buon compleano (Erika Homeuka) \/\u0421 \u0434\u043d\u0435\u043c \u0440\u043e\u0436\u0434\u0435\u043d\u0438\u044f! Thom Nibbelin: I’m OK. Still in Siem Reap but am looking for jobs and probably a new location. I edited a novel in December-January and that went very well. Pay wasn’t great but it was good to immerse myself in the project. It was a co-written novel by first-timers and needed a lot of work. I did some re-writing on it as well. Finally learned how to effectively use the semi-colon instead of using ways to skirt around it : I don’t really like how it looks on the page. Kind of an aesthetic thing…silly, I know. I started a novel\/screenplay about adventures in Kerala but ran into some blocks…I think I need a co-writer or an adviser on some technical\/cultural things…and should probably be writing it in Kerala, immersed in the life and culture there. That’s problematic financially and should be done when the hot season then monsoon season is over. Khmer New Year (Sangkran) is coming up on April 14-16 and over 500,000 tourists are expected to descend on Siem Reap. The Prime Minister and opposition party leader are coming up together and the King will be at his residence. I live about 3 blocks from the King’s residence (which is usually empty) and my usual river road travel route will be blocked during that time…dammit! A LOT of interesting things going on at Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and other places in and around Siem Reap. Should be fascinating. How are you?<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

George Anca: Dear Thom, Thanks for your story there. I find you well, as ever, but still missing Kerala. Your editing and composition accompanied you mostly any time (perhaps lesser in China), keep it as a writer. Princes Sirindhorn studied Sanskrit with professor Sathya Vrat Shastri, and at world conference of librarians in Bangkok, under her aegies, I presented her THAI VILASHA, an epic by Satyavrat, commented by me.<\/p>\n

Thom Nibbelin: Thank you for the note, George. Kerala calls me often when I slumber…and when I’m awake as well. I miss Bangkok a bit too…and Kuala Lumpur. Not so much China smile emoticon. I think I might focus on discreet essays and expand them into short and long fiction as well as scripts for stage and screen. Sanskrit…hmm…not Latin? wink emoticon I thought about writing a parody about the apostle Thomas’ times in Kerala and his eventual death in India. I think he was seduced by Kali and was struck down by both Hindu Gods and the Christian God…double whammy! Oh, I briefly met the Princess when I was teaching at a small military academy right next to the Royal Thai Army military academy where she teaches in Nakhon Nayok. She visited our school one afternoon to talk with the boys and encourage them. I had a group of 5 boys sing “My Girl” by the Temptations with the dance steps and everything smile emoticon She thought it was a good way to teach English….make it fun. <\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
