Poemul pentru copii <\/em>\u00ab<\/em>Pas\u0103rea Kiwi \u015fi Z\u00e2na Ferig\u0103<\/em>\u00bb <\/em>\u00a0este unul din cele 14 scrise pentru a o ajuta pe prietena mea, Carol Paton-White, n\u0103scut\u0103 \u00een Anglia, s\u0103-\u015fi \u00eemplineasc\u0103 visul s\u0103 creeze pentru \u0163ara ei adoptiv\u0103 picturi ale z\u00e2nelor florilor native. Ea a murit \u00eenainte ca Z\u00e2nele Florilor \u015fi P\u0103s\u0103ri din Aotearoa – Noua Zeeland\u0103 (picturi, poeme \u015fi note culturale) s\u0103 fie publicat\u0103. Sunt m\u00e2ndr\u0103 c\u0103 poemul <\/em>\u00ab<\/em>Phoenix<\/em>\u00bb<\/em> este expus permanent pe un perete din ora\u015ful Napier. Poemul <\/em>\u00ab<\/em>Marae<\/em>\u00bb<\/em> \u00a0<\/em>reflect\u0103 binecuv\u00e2ntarea faptului c\u0103 am leg\u0103turi de familie cu Maori, cultura indigen\u0103 a Noii Zeelande. Prin intermediul acestui frumos proiect \u015fi al Valentinei, salut to\u0163i cititorii rom\u00e2ni cu aroha (dragoste).\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

Carole A. Stewart<\/strong> introduces herself: \u201eMy pioneer ancestors emigrated from England and Italy in the 1800\u2019s. The generations grow with 1 daughter, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren! <\/em>\u00a0My husband and I are retired from careers in Mental Health care. A founding members of Hawke\u2019s Bay Live Poets\u2019 Society (president for 23 years), I believe in community sharing with community through poetry. Poetry is each person\u2019s <\/em>observation and truth \u2013 in all its vibrancy, drama, humour. Anything can be said and shared in a safe way, through poetry. The children\u2019s poem <\/em>\u00ab<\/em>Kiwi and Fern Fairy<\/em>\u00bb<\/em> is one of 14 written to support the dream <\/em>of my English-born friend Carol Paton-White, to create native Flower Fairy paintings for her adopted country. She died before Flower Fairies and Birds of Aotearoa New Zealand (paintings, poems and heritage notes) was published. <\/em>I am proud that <\/em>\u00ab<\/em>The Phoenix<\/em>\u00bb<\/em> is displayed permanently on a Napier city wall. <\/em>The poem <\/em>\u00ab<\/em>Marae<\/em>\u00bb<\/em> reflects the blessing of my having whanau (family) links to Maori, the indigenous culture of New Zealand. Through this beautiful project and Valentina, I greet all Romanian readers with aroha (love).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

FERN FAIRY AND KIWI<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kiwi is our national bird and name by which we\u2019re known.<\/em><\/p>\n

Like Silver Fern, a symbol proud, to other nations shown.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The Kiwi always hunts at night and probes with a long beak<\/em><\/p>\n

to sniffle worms for underground and play worm hide-and-seek.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

It cannot fly, but walks and runs on short and sturdy legs<\/em><\/p>\n

and calls out, \u201cKee Wee!\u201d all the night and lays enormous eggs.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

In still and shady secret nooks, Fern Fairy lives and play.<\/em><\/p>\n

She loves the dampish forest and its quiet and ferny ways.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The Silver Ferns tower over her like parasols of green<\/em><\/p>\n

and spores of Hen and Chickens Fern behind their fronds are seen.<\/em><\/p>\n

Fern Fairy whispers soft and low and startles Kiwi bird<\/em><\/p>\n

who peers through the nocturnal gloom, to see just what its heard.<\/em><\/p>\n
