A absolvit filologia la Institutul Pedagogic Gala\u0163i. A lucrat ca profesor de limba rom\u00e2n\u0103, bibliotecar, ziarist. Maria a imigrat \u00een Elve\u0163ia \u00een 1999.\u00a0 Locuie\u015fte \u00eempreun\u0103 cu so\u0163ul ei, Kark Weishaupt, la Kloten. Are doi copii adul\u0163i din prima ei c\u0103s\u0103torie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maria a scris poezii din adolescen\u0163\u0103 \u015fi-a publicat prima carte de poezie Cad frunzele, cad \u015fefii la editura Porto Franco Gala\u0163i, \u00een 2000. Apoi a publicat alte patru c\u0103r\u0163i de poezie, ultima \u201eRoua secret\u0103 &#8211; The Secrets Dew\u201d \u00een edi\u0163ie bilingv\u0103, cu traducerea remarcabil\u0103 \u00een englez\u0103 a profesorului \u015fi renumitului traduc\u0103tor Petru Iamandi. Ea este de asemenea pasionat\u0103 de pictur\u0103, oferind picturile ei \u00een ulei sau acuarele, prietenilor rom\u00e2ni sau elve\u0163ieni.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maria\u00a0este cunoscut\u0103 ca o persoan\u0103 nonconformist\u0103. De exemplu, c\u00e2nd a publicat primul volum de poezii, a g\u0103sit un mod original de a-\u015fi \u201elansa\u201d cartea. A stat c\u00e2teva ore \u00eentr-o vitrin\u0103 a Libr\u0103riei Centrale din Gala\u0163i, expus\u0103 spre strad\u0103. A\u015fezat\u0103 pe un fotoliu, cu exemplare ale c\u0103r\u0163ii ei de jur \u00eemprejur, citea cu interes din cartea ei. Trec\u0103torii s-au oprit, privind uimi\u0163i la ceea ce vedeau \u00een vitrin\u0103. Mul\u0163i dintre ei au intrat \u00een libr\u0103rie \u015fi-au cump\u0103rat cartea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maria comenteaz\u0103: \u201ePoezia \u00eenseamn\u0103 pentru mine comunicare cu universul, visare, fantezie, fiindc\u0103 recunosc sunt o ve\u015fnic\u0103 romantic\u0103. Iubi\u0163ii mei scriitori sunt Eminescu \u015fi Pu\u015fkin. Pentru c\u0103 suntem trec\u0103tori pe acest p\u0103m\u00e2nt, suntem datori s\u0103 l\u0103s\u0103m urma\u015filor no\u015ftri o zestre. Poezia nici nu moare, nici nu piere, ci r\u0103m\u00e2ne. Poezia e umbra mea.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">***<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maria Sar\u0103u was born in 1949. She graduated Philology from the Pedagogical Institute Gala\u0163i. She worked as a Romanian teacher, librarian and journalist. Maria emigrated to Switzerland in 1999. She lives with her husband, Kark Weishaupt , in Kloten. She has two adult children from her first marriage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maria wrote poetry in her teens and published her first book of poetry Leaves Fall, Bosses are Dismissed at Porto Franco Publishing House, Gala\u0163i, in 2000. She published four more poetry books, the latest Roua secreta &#8211; The Secret Dew a bilingual edition, remarkably translated by Petru Iamandi, a famous English teacher and translator. She is passionate about painting, giving away her oil or watercolor paintings to her Romanian and Swiss friends.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maria is known as a nonconformist. For example, when she published her first poetry book, she found an original way to \u201claunch\u201d it. She spent several hours in the Central Bookshop window in Gala\u0163i, which is exposed to the street. She was sitting in an armchair with copies of her book around her, reading her book with interest. Passersby stopped and stared at the window. Many of them entered the bookstore and bought her book.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maria comments: \u2018To me poetry means communicating with the universe, dreaming, fantasy, because I admit I\u2019m an eternal romantic. My beloved writers are Eminescu and Puskin. Because we only live a short amount of time on this earth, our duty is to leave a legacy to our descendants. Poetry neither dies nor perishes, but remains.
